Michaela Baldwin
Painting and Mixed Media
Michaela Baldwin (b. West Point, Mississippi) is a visual artist and writer currently based near Biloxi, Mississippi. A self-taught artist, she began her creative journey in 2018 after exploring writing, photography, and digital media while living abroad in Japan. Upon returning to the U.S. in 2020, her practice expanded into painting and mixed media, driven by a desire to document transition, memory, and the interplay between destruction and renewal.
Her work has been showcased at sheROCKS! Event in Washington, D.C., through State of Fem Art. She has been featured as a painter and illustrator with Arts and Ambition Studios. In 2023, she was selected for an artist residency at the Elsewhere Museum in Greensboro, North Carolina, where her installation became a permanent part of the museum’s collection. She has also collaborated with Golden State Entertainment during its early development. Baldwin’s artistic practice is shaped by direct experience—working within art studios, assisting established artists, conducting independent research, and engaging with creatives across disciplines.
